Hi nice review! I’m a student filmmaker just about to start film school! I already own a decent camera for “PROPER” filmmaking but am looking for a new small camera for little videos like behind the scenes and that kind of thing. Untill your review i have been in favour of the ZI8 but after your review i’m not so sure. I do think though that the bad points about the ZI8 don’t really play much of a negative to me and i definitely prefer having the audio out jack. Thanks for the good review.

@donnainmt I only have the first flip camera that came out but I’m pretty sure this will work for the rest. If the portable tv doesn’t have audio/video in you will need to use a RF converter. Camera video out – RF converter – VHF in on TV. On a Sony Webbie HD (my current camera) the viewfinder goes blank but is displayed to the tv.
